Any controversial person, anyone who tries to accomplish something on this earth will be hated. Look at Jesus; people put him up on a cross! The people that make the bad comments about me further illustrate why I would not want to be like everyone else. People are so prideful about themselves and their money, they are probably the same ones who tra-la-la going to work and coming home while millions of dollars are spent every day on crap like war. I am a brave beautiful soul and I am loved. Happiness does spread through social networks. Everyday interactions we have with other people are defiantly contagious in terms of happiness.
What is interesting is not that your happiness depends on your family and your friends but your happiness depends on the family and friends of their family and friends.

We made it to Colorado a few days a go. It was a hard hall. The engine died in Santa Fe New Mexico and we had to tow it the rest of the way into Colorado. It might be the piston rings, hoses, crankshaft, or something.
We still do not know what the problem is but that is OK because the reason why we came to Colorado was to upgrade the engine. Most likely we will bore out the piston holes to add horse power and add an air intake with real air cleaner and aftermarket parts. Hopefully we will also add a automatic transmission or just fix up the current manual and remove the two speed back end. The weather this week is nice but last night was supposedly in the low 20s, it did not seem like east coast New York weather maybe because of the low humidity. I had the wood stove blaring this morning and was comfortable in shorts. I believe the Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper is going to do a story in a week or so. I am actually based in Fountain Colorado which is about 25 miles south of Colorado Springs. I am living on a 40 acre farm. I am helping with the animals; they have cows, goats, chickens, rabbits, and two dogs. Yesterday I helped feed the baby cows and move them around in the barn and also cleaned out the water and food buckets because a few baby cows died because of an illness.

The road of life always goes somewhere good. The loud sounds of freight train horns and cold whistling winds blister my ears tonight. As 2008 is coming closer to an end Purple53 will soon be getting a Christmas facelift, manicure and, pedicure. We are about 180 miles west of the New Mexico border resting for the night near a small shopping center that happens to be close to active train tracks. It has taken 15 years to come to this point. The reconnection of childhood friendships prove promising. My good friend Alex Nicholos, star of, Rescue 911, flew into San Diego 2 days ago, to help drive and journey along with Purple53 heading to his hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Alex runs a precision welding shop and is anxious to upgrade and revamp Purple53, including a fresh coat of Paint! Jacumba California comes to a brutal quick end, leaving behind the annoying localized gnats, conservative hippie children, and over hormoneized foreign ambassadors. I try hard to feel safe. I try hard to connect with people. There are moments when I think the bad times outweigh the good because something always happens and I do not feel safe anymore and the people I connect with weren't truly there to begin with. Good friends are the best in these occasions, except when they snore all night long keeping me awake haha. I have acquired a motorcycle recently. Its a beauty, vintage 1975 Yamaha RD350. I have been offered a free motorcycle training course, which will get me a motorcycle license, from Motorcycle Training Academy, in exchange for doing some photography for them. This is another oddly randomly amazing connection I have made from Craigslist. I will post many new photos soon!

I was out of town over the past few weeks and some people broke into Purple53. I heard there was an event this past weekend and there were lots of young hippie type people hanging around my town in Jacumba and I think this is when the brake in happened. I believe the perpetrator(s) first completely shattered the front door window to gain access, it seemed then they looked through most of my belongings hoping to find drugs or something, I say drugs because it seems nothing was stolen, no valuables were taken from what I can tell so far, they unzipped small pouches, tore open cardboard boxes, made the place a mess, there were also knife stab marks on my some of my wooden storage doors. On the way out the person(s) then shattered the bathroom window from the inside in bulges outward; this one is going to be hard to fix because I will have to tare apart half the wall. I am low on money right now so I will not be able to repair the windows for a while. Its going to cost about $200 in glass for new windows. If anyone can help out with a donation that would be awesome. Also need emotional support. I was feeling nauseous this morning because of everything that has been going on lately.

Love, the chaos of life, the last few weeks have been full of it, the good and bad. I met someone really unique and special, her name is Melissa Staggs from Oklahoman. About a week into the relationship she showed me the wild side for the first time in my life. I did not want to ever let her go but basically insisted on saying good buy a week after because she had a lot of unfinished business back home, too much baggage and growth to deal with on her end. I feel really sad about it all but I love her and hope to see her again so very soon. Well today I am going to Colorado Springs CO today to visit a childhood friend who I have not seen in 15 years. It will be hard to have fun because of all that has happened lately but I am sure he will be able to make me laugh.

Jacumba: new born baby crying at local library having diaper changed on table. If you did something like this in a New York City library you would be arrested or nearly shot. I have really enjoyed my time at the Jacumba California Library because they let you be normal, and they even let you talk on your cell phones. The library's rules in New York are borderline ridiculous. I was recently asked "How did you find your mind?". At first I did not understand the question so she explained to me that even since the 1950s people in this time period today do not know their own mind, people have forgotten how to love and often most people sink into addictions and/or abusive situations. She told me that you do not even have to go back 100 years to find good people; she said even 50 years ago people were better. She told me something I never heard before, people used to leave their keys inside their cars with the door unlocked on purpose. And when people went fishing or berry picking they would always get enough food for their neighbors. She was very happy to meet me and impressed to see how I am living. Today the definition of OLD its about 2 years, after that period people start throwing away their shit and getting new shit. It has been about three months since I first set foot in Jacumba, I have some visitors this month it will be really cool. The Grand Canyon Phantom Ranch manager, David Meyer, is coming to Jacumba next week to visit me.

America is such a big place that most areas do not have community at all. The elderly travel 4 hours a day to buy food and talk with friends on public buses. I think that is just as bad as child obesity. My father visited this past weekend. We ate at Salsa Lynda restaurant in Boulevard about 8 miles from Jacumba. This place has some of the best Mexican food I have ever tasted they even sell freshly made salsa in bottles, the salsa is amazing and I recommend the burritos, they are easily vegan/vegetarian friendly too.

It is Friday the Thirteenth. Tomorrow is my birthday, June Fourteenth, Flag Day. I am still living in Jacumba California and so I have dubbed Jacumba home base for at least six months. The town itself has a history.
Today some four hundred people live in Jacumba. What now appears a quiet high desert retreat was once a thriving spa. In the 1920s and 30s the community thrived, its therapeutic hot springs a mecca for Hollywood celebrities and wealthy Imperial Valley growers. Walking through town on a sunny day you get the sense of history. The old buildings, tumbleweeds and dry air gives your imagination space to wander. Humans have the bad habit of complaining and I think it must be part of our nature or maybe many people are off track. Almost everyone today complains about gas prices, airports lines, public transportation, the economy, their brothers, their sisters, their families, jobs, and weird people. I advise you, please stop complaining! Find some peace, there is no other way!

I hate to say this but I would have to rate some of the San Diego sheriffs almost as low as the 12 year old boys who spray painted my truck in New York City. Every time they use the phrase saying "they are being nice and the next sheriffs might not be that nice". What the heck does that mean exactly, geez it is like they are treating me like a murderer. My friends are letting me park closer to their house now over in their parking area, it does not have as good of views and I believe it is still county property but its kind of tucked behind a tree so it might work out better and I will plant a garden! Opps I spoke too soon. I parked closer to my friends house an the neighbors started complaining already, the way they do it though behind our backs like freaking 3 year olds. The government, sheriffs, police, authority, they all have choices, they all have this in common: they can help and serve or they can ignore your existence with no compassion what so ever. I think when they are given these choices they think they are super power and that causes problems in the society, almost as bad as the oil companies. I have a lot of work to do on the people in Del Dios California. They obviously have been burnt in the past both psychically and mentally. Many of the people do not like my purple truck.

Another interesting comment that was made the other day was about the thousands of homeless people living in their cars or trucks, yet nobody asks them where they go to the bathroom, but the second you see a guy living in a purple truck they ask where he goes to the bathroom?
I am back in Del Dios! Just about three days ago I left Del Dios to work on a ranch in Vista California. At the time I was not give much information about the ranch but it seemed like a nice plan. It turned out to be less than expected, bad park, bad energy, and strange vibes. The owner of the ranch did not even look at my website before inviting me, how bizarre is that. I did some walking while I was in the area and found about 45 cents in change and a solid 14k gold chain on the side of the highway, sweet! Today I am back in Del Dios, I had a llittle Tae Kwon Do lesson and it was fun :)

Del Dios and Escondido California is a pretty interesting place so far. Lake Hodges is really beautiful. One new friend lives on top of a theater in a little tiny apartment. It has been a pleasure meeting all these young people my age here. I think if they all pulled together a little more to build a community things would be better in all. I need more time to explore the city and I might stay longer if I can find a better parking spot where can also be useful. The original community gardener gig in Del Dios fell through because the people organizing it do not own the land and the owner objected to me parking there and gardening, all of it was really lame, I guess they like the weed infested ground better than vegetables and flowers. In addition after getting into Del Dios on the first day I noticed the trucks clutch was acting up. I waited around for a few days hoping to get some help on it and John Lightner from San Diego came over in his camouflaged crazy-lowrider-stepvan and adjusted my clutch. Yeah so my fan club is getting larger everyday its kind of cool! I have been handing out more of the stickers to people I meet. I have been helping out with a great cause called Food Not Bombs in Escondido. Right now am parked behind a nice couples house. I have to leave here soon. If I try and stay in Del Dios I do not know where I will call home-base. It is important I find a home-base address because I need to get my health insurance switched over to California.

No Grapes Yet

The Grape Vineyard sure worked my butt off, in the fields and also my truck engine repairs. I pruned the bottom party of the grape plants which took a few days, doing this make the sunlight be exposed more to the top of the plant and then the grapes have higher sugar content when they are growing. For my truck engine I flushed the radiator and removed the thermostat because it was malfunctioning, afterwards the fluids were flowing much better. This was insane because it took me all day 10am to 5pm yesterday. Today I left the vineyard, it was pretty tricky backing up the steep driveway around the narrow corner. The truck is starting better because I saw the gas peddle rod was bent so I bent it back somewhat. I made it to Del Dios CA ( Escondido CA ) area but with more troubles. The transmission in the truck is making bad sounds so I think it is broke, this is stressing me out. Also the community garden gig that I had hopped to get situated in today did not happen so I'm stuck here by this beautiful lake. I need to wait till tomorrow to see what evolves because I'm supposed to meet up with more people tomorrow and also the San Diego Union Tribune article is coming out Saturday I think so hopefully someone will read this blog entry and email me.

The Journey to Jacumba was fun and interesting to be in such a small town but unexpectedly the stop there was much shorter than planned, I only stayed there one night and was not able to make any contacts in the area. I headed to Boulevard California to try and get some engine help but the prices were too high for me.
For a couple days after I had been parked behind an old house in Boulevard California with limited resources around, a nice real-estate lady let me park there and hook up to power. But then an exciting lead came through in Jamul California and so really early Sunday morning I took advantage of the cooler weather so the truck did not overheat and made it over the mountains, I was able to get the truck started and drive 60 miles into Jamul where I am now staying at a really sweet Villa and Vineyard, the people here are really kind. They are also going to help me with my trucks engine. I have heard stories about people in general; in San Diego area are not nice people so I guess I found a rare bunch which is my specialty I guess. This is my 3rd day here and so far I've been helping in the vineyard and getting to know the people. If you have not been to Jamul before you should visit because it is beautiful out here. It's hilly country with houses scattered on hillsides.

The fan belt was slipping a few times on I-8 on my way into Jacumba so I had to get off and start taking old highway 80 which is a much cooler road and it has fewer cars on it. As it turns out I am still having engine troubles, the most recent is the engine boiling over which we think is caused by a clogged radiator, the water pump seems to still be pumping. I stopped at Benny & Son Garage in Boulevard CA and he wanted $400 to clean the radiator, today’s day and age is crazy. My dad is going to be coming over from Phoenix this weekend or next weekend to help with that and we also want to get a new mechanical fuel pump installed. I ran into a random old 70~ year old guy in Jacumba and he was telling me about old truck water pumps and if I am able to move my fan that the water pump is bad; can any verify this comment? Jacumba is a really sweet little town with a grade school and post office and library and grocery store. The hours for most businesses are so late in the day so I wasn't able to check any places out yet but I hope to return when I find a place to park. Oh and by the way I am extremely disappointed in sprint cell phone service, before making this long drive into Jacumba I checked with sprint and the service was listed as 100% but then when I arrive there is no service at all practically. As it turns out this lady I have been emailing works near Benny's Garage is letting me park and hook up to power and water till my dad comes to work on the truck. What a relief because California has been a rough ride so far not finding any good contacts. One good things about this area is there is tons of sage plants growing everywhere so I've been picking a lot of it so I can dry it. I am finally going to be able to update the website fully with new video and photos. It feels like its been so long since I left Texas.

Today was really interesting and I got to lean more about my engine and meet some cool random people. First thing my dad came to Tucson and we worked on the engine trying to figure out why it wasn't starting as good as usual. We did change the spark plugs, got an engine fuel line and carburetor cleaner. But as we worked on the engine more, we found what we think was the main issue, a vacuum line from the carburetor going into the windshield wiper pump was disconnected causing rough running and bad starts! We closed up that line completely and its running better and has started a dozen times today. Much better than the other day when it took nearly a half hour to get started. I also met a really cool dude from San Diego who came over to say Hello, he was in Tucson mountain climbing for the day. This was really cool because now I have a connection in San Diego! I should be heading further West tomorrow morning.

I guess it takes a lot of time to get used to big wild cats even if they are mentally retarded. This past weekend I had the excitement of being inside a bobcat cage and it was intense. I think the main fear comes from being programmed your whole life by television and movies to think big cats are deadly. But in fact one of the cats at the wildlife rescue farm I visited was mentally retarded and probably wouldn't hurt a fly, but he loves to drool on you. I left the Dallas area Monday, heading into West Texas. I made some stops at a few shitty rest stops last night. Rest stops in Texas really suck I must say. Today I made it to Monahans Sandhills State Park and I've been hanging out here all day waiting for the sun to go down then ill go another ~120 miles this evening.

"If everybody helps with something that's easy for them it keeps the circle going." - that's a good quote. It has been a little over a week since arriving at the Garry's farm in Bowdon Georgia. This past Saturday I was surprised with a Welcome Party in my honor. The guests all chanted Welcome Angel over and over; it was awkward at first but then it was funny. I've done more veggie planting in the garden here. The food I've been indulged with has been incredible, its been offered in mass quantities, more than I'm used to eating, 99 percent organic and grown on the farm. I asked Jacque if it feels strange when you eat all this wonderful food and other people are getting poor quality food from chain grocery stores, he says yes it is strange. The weather has been great except for 2 storms. The one storm last week destroyed many buildings in downtown Atlanta. We even went as far as putting the vehicles at the farm in the barn with my truck half way sticking out to be safe from the possible 4 inch hale storm, luckily the storm just missed our area. The second storm this week wasn't that bad. I saw today how you make real goat cheese, boil the milk to 180 degrees and then to add vinegar and lemon juice, while keep stirring it starts to thicken up, then strain it in cheese cloth. I also had the pleasure of having curtains made for my two back windows by one of Nancy Garry's friends.

The experiences over the last week have been really amazing. I don't know where to start. I haven't gotten to update the blog as much so here it goes. I was visiting with the people at TheCause USA for about 4 days.
There I met this funny guy named Nick he always smiles just like me. The people there who run the place (Deborah) kept me fed with smoothies every morning and soup in the evening which was awesome. I left there Monday morning around 8am and headed to Atlanta area. During my travels a funny thing happened; I made contact with Lee Phillips, the owner of Easy Ride Golf Cars in a little crazy old marble mining town Ball Ground Georgia. Mr. Phillips offered to repair my engine for free at his golf cart shop, funny as it may seem, the mechanic Wade was really smart. The engine valve cover gasket and carburetor gasket were replaced with new gaskets and the battery was filled too. This was awesome they did all this work for free. During this time a local newspaper, Cherokee Tribune, interview me. Later that day in the afternoon I had my interview with CNN for the show News to ME. It was really cool. They invited me to their small production house (an actual house). Supposedly I was the first person invited so they say. It was an exciting and funny experience. They were joking around a lot and gave me a mostly empty tin of cashews and two sweet potatoes. They probably thought I was a quack. I think the video will be on TV in a few weeks on CNN news.
After this interview I went to my final destination in Georgia; a sweet little farm in Bowdon Georgia. This farm is a little different than the last farm I visited. The animals here are much healthier and act really different.
The best thing about this farm is the bunny rabbits! They have a lot of baby bunny and also 3 two day old goats which I got to bottle feed! The couple who run the farm are amazing. They are down to earth and really nice and very hard working. They don't have showers, only baths, and they share bath water!!! They also have a huge garden that ill probably get to help with. And I have a feeling they want me to milk the goats too!!!
One really bad thing about recent travels is the Chimney pipe cap is busted so ill have to get a new one!!!

I have had a really good day today. I think the first best things was I got some really good French Frys from a place in NC called Snoopy's Hot Dogs at 1931 Wake Forest Rd in Raleigh NC. I also got a tour of downtown Raleigh. In the afternoon I was interviewed by Wake Forest Newspaper and the story will run in next Thursdays edition. Then I had a photo shoot with a local model.

I made it to North Carolina and I'm parked at a farm, the farm has chicken, emu, goat, sheep, and other birds I can't name yet; it's really nice here in Wake Forest NC. The dirt is red and the land has a lot of quartz crystal so I might find some good pieces here. Also earlier today right before leaving Richmond VA, CBS 6 news did a quick interview for the news; the video guy was kinda a prick but I think he got good shots. I don't think they aired the piece but maybe it will go on TV another day.

This morning around 730am I started driving to Richmond to meet with David Bunn & Family whom I found on craigslist. It turns out to be a really nice family. I got a nice tour of the Richmond area. Then they prepared a nice lunch; a bean stew and vegetable salad. I was also able to do wash and take a shower. Then later in the day we all hung out and talked. And I might now have a contact in Louisiana.

Yesterday I made it over the bridge at 1:15pm; it was really pretty. The toll was $18, that's crazy! I got gas in New Jersey at 2pm, I was able to put in 24 gallons in the tank; the price was a lot lower than New York. Now I am about 70 miles outside of Richmond Virginia. I will be sitting here for 24 hours waiting for bad weather to pass. The trip has went smoothly so far, except for the high tolls in New Jersey which took about $40 from the pot. I am trying to reach warmer weather and my first contact in Dacula Georgia. I'm wondering if anyone can spare a small donation?

I have gotten the oil changed, the fan belt and alternator belt replaced. The price for service was horrible but I hope the work was good. I have moved out of the parking lot in Brooklyn and now am starting my way South.
The first stop was my friends house near the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. If all goes as roughly planned I will be going over the Bridge Thursday. I am nauseous.
